Malta, Cliff Zammit Stevens is a recent first class honours graduate from the
Royal College of Music in London, supported by Mrs. Janatha Stubbs and the
Peter Moores foundation and Megabyte.
He started his vocal training at the age
of 14 with renowned soprano Gillian Zammit whom he continues to study with from
time to time. At the RCM Cliff studies with tenor Paul Clarke.
role Debut as Nemorino in PopUp Opera’s new production of L’Elisir D’Amore
brought him rave reviews. The Internationally acclaimed Opera Magazine said
‘His full- toned, ardent singing gave justice to Donizetti’s Music... He shows
taken part in many workshops and master classes with highly praised musicians
including; Delfo Menicucci, Juliette Bisazza, Janis Kelly and Sally Burgess.
Credits For Opera Include; Donizetti’s ‘L’Elisir D’Amore’ (Nemorino), Verdi’s
‘Il Trovatore’ (Ruiz), Bellini’s ‘Norma (Flavio), Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute’
(Monostatos), Humperdinck’s ‘Hansel and Gretel’ (Witch) and Britten’s ‘The
Little Sweep’ (Clem). Cliff was part of Britten’s War Requiem at the RCM,
Mozart’s ‘Ascanio in Alba’ at King’s Place and Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ (Tenor Solo).
also a fantastic recitalist and his annual concerts in his native home – Malta,
always brought him rave reviews. His most recent being held at the Office of
the Prime Minister.
Cliff’s recent achievements include representing the RCM at the
prestigious Junior Ferrier awards and successfully making it to the final
rounds to high critical acclaim – “He has the commitment, drive and charisma to
be a performer and the quality and appeal of voice to complete the essential
qualities to fulfill his potential.” He also performed at the Royal Albert hall
in London and had the honour of performing in a master class for Robert
Sutherland (Maria Callas’ ex- accompanist).
